Circa 1936 Royal O Portable Typewriter

Circa 1936 Royal O Portable Typewriter
The Royal Model O was made by the Royal Typewriter Company in Hartford, Connecticut, from 1935 to 1939.
It’s gloss black lacquer and compact design make it a sought after choice for the Screenless Writer™.
The ‘glass’ key tops and quick action, with touch control, allow for quick, deliberate typing at nearly any speed.
This machine boasts a smaller footprint from some of its contemporaries, and event he case is lower profile than most.
The US QWERTY keyboard layout means it will feel familiar to typers in the United States. It uses the universal ribbon size, which will come wound onto fintage metal ribbon spools.
New platen and feet.
This one comes complete with 2-tone ribbon selector, 1, 1.5, and 2 line spacing, automatic ribbon reversal, and an exclamation point! (Usually one has to recreate one in the 30’s out of other characters).
Comes in an outstanding case with excellent hardware.
Enjoy one of history’s finest writing machines in the best condition it comes in!
