One of the early twentieth century’s most practical writing machines, in one of history’s most beautiful packages.

Corona’s Standard ‘Speedline’ Typewriter is glossy gem that not only embodies history but also stands as a testament to the era's craftsmanship. This portable manual typewriter is a prized find for collectors and enthusiasts alike, boasting a robust metal construction that ensures durability and longevity. With its distinctive design and the renowned Smith Corona brand prestige, this typewriter is a piece of Americana that will hold its value and maintain its usefulness.

The serial numbers beginning with 2S (Silent) or 2C (Standard) . This vintage piece is not just a tool but a slice of history from the United States, ready to be a featured standout in any collection.

These come with variations on branding and features. Most of them are ‘Standard’ or ‘Silent.’ I tend to send the best one I have, due to rarity. The Standard has no tabs.

Unlike it’s crinkle black cousins, or it’s black siblings, a few of these beauties fame in this rare gloss maroon.

The maroon ranges from a deep dark brownish red to a very light blood-like color. The decals are gold; sometimes the Corona on the front is white.

They are one of the fastest typers you will find, with that distinctive ‘glass keyed’ look of the era.

They have all of the bells and whistles you’ll need, including:

  • Basket shift (Floating Shift)

  • Tab with extra keys

  • Single and Double Line Spacing

  • 2 Tone Ribbon Selector

  • End of line bell

  • Automatic ribbon reversal (and manual)

We resurface / replace the platen & feed rollers as needed for a beautiful typing experience.

The typeface is usually 10 character per inch PICA, sometimes 12 character per inch ELITE.

Upper and lowercase will be aligned, and every machine passes a rigorous 14 point inspection and is tested by a writer.

Includes:

  • Original Case in Use-able condition (sometimes the cases are a little rough, but they work).

  • Lifetime Trade In Policy

  • Classic Typewriter Guarantee

  • Video tutorial and guide

  • Warranty depending upon condition you choose at checkout (1-3 years)
